This Life

James 5 copy smaller.jpeg

V1:   Summer skies baking my skin, French fries malt vinegar.

Wild cries from coaster rides, funny how I remember.

The line seems to wind forever, for such a fleeting thrill.

CH:   This life, Hotter & faster it burns, harder to handle the turns.

Stretching me out at the seams, more often begging God please.

V2:   As a child in no hurry, make believed & played.

Grown up now swept by worry, like a tidal wave.

Can I trust like a child, even though I’ve grown?

CH:    This life,  Hotter & faster it burns, harder to handle the turns.

Tearing apart at the seams, more often begging God please!

Instrumental:

Bridge:    Why is it so complicated? And why to often frustrated?

                  Yet why ever stay isolated

over & over & over & over again?

CH:    This life, Ready or not here it comes, hope I don’t come undone!

Stretching me out at the seams, more often begging God please.

CH:    This life, Hotter & faster it burns, harder to handle the turns.

            Tearing apart at the seams…

I drop to my knees and ask the Lord Jesus……….rescue me!

                    Rescue me Jesus…………..In this life!
